Welcome along - there's a few of us on here that are doing the 2kCup thing. The XSi is a sweet handling little thing - it is speed through the corners that really counts!

Shame you missed out on this 6: http://2kcup.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=134&start=210#p4243

Are you going to be at Taupo next weekend?

Brakes are easy - are you just upgrading pads and replacing the fluid?

Cheers - disks, pads, and fluid.... retracting the rear piston caused some headscratching.... unwind and push was the answer.

Brakes sorted now, entry confirmed, tyres tomorrow, and up to taupo.  Please say g'day if you are there!  :)

I'll be looking out for you - and I'm easy to spot as no-one else is mad enough to race a hydraulic Citroën!

Aaaargh!  What to do?  I've already comitted to buying PDub's gti shell and spare bits.... my original plan being to cage the shell and keep running the xsi in the meantime while i build up a new race car around the shell - basically i need an engine and box and it's good to go, which can be all done for around the 2k mark.   But i'm also hearing the warnings... so plan b, i just build the gti into a road car, which doesn't solve my 2k woes... i'm waiting to see what the bbq committe says.  The shell is registered, so i don't see how it differs from a car with a blown motor, or the rebuilds, repowers or replacement engines going on in 2k... but we'll see.... i'm going to go back to them with a project plan and a build budget - demonstrate the 2k spirit ;)

In the South Island I think the 6 speed ones are not allowed ?? Is it the same in North Island ?

If you are going to run a xsi rather than a S16 I'd be making sure you baffle the sump - a 306xsi turned up at round 5 in Timaru, came in after a few laps Nunga Nunga :(

Not sure if the 16valve suffers the same ?

The xu series all suffer from the same oil surge issues.  The gti6 just got a small trapdoor setup to help.  It's not good enough...

You will want to make / get something proper.
