Hi all, long time car guy, past Pug 309 GTI owner sold when kids came along, loved that car, it gave me a bit of grief during ownership, mainly exploding rear glass hatches x2 (was the early model pre inner frame) and breaking plastic, but all in all pretty good, and an awesome drive in a twisty road.
Current weekend play car is a 73 BMW 3.0 csi.

Looking to replace my current daily driver (Grande Punto GTI (1.9 turbo diesel) in the new year and have been thinking a 197 RS Clio would be a good weapon of choice, so on the look out for one of these.
Would also use this for track days and the like.

Nice BM!

Any particular reason why you say 197 and not 200?

Mungous

Mmm, tasty 3.0! I've always loved those cars... 😀

Never seen those wheels on any E9 before though - they look a lot like the 18s on my M3.

197 or 200, they are both scarce so I would take either.

Anyone know if any for sale?

Thanks for the comment on the BMW

Cheers

Yes the wheels are e46 style 67, 17inch, they were best i could find at the time that looked as close to Alpina's without spending a fortune, the Alpina's are about $3k US for a good set and are only 16inch.

The coupe has 5 series wheel off set so I have to use 45 mm thick bolt on spacers to run these wheels.

I sold my 200 about 6 months ago :(

In my opinion 200s look much better than 197 ;D

They come up fairly regularly on the Japanese auctions now depending on how keen you are and if you'd tolerate a Jap import.

sakbattsnz

Sweet, will look into that

Cheers

Oh well, will just keep waiting., and see what comes up.
Really prefer the look of the 197 to be honest.
