Im biting my lip here... but I was offered a Megane R26 in Liquid Yellow today.. so I jumped on Youtube and watched a "hot hatch of the year" shoot out from 2007-8.. out of 15 odd cars the Peugeot was dead last and hatted by everyone.
So how much are you selling the Clio for?

I don't have a Clio anymore, sold it last year.

Im hoping this R26 pans out, they are cool cars.

This is the GT that my mate is selling, he has used it as a daily driver for a few years and it goes well.

This looks great, unfortunately I am in Auckland.

Cheers all, so the consensus is that the 207 is a fine car and the stigma of issues surrounding such a car is all myths? Your mate hasnt have issues with his being a daily RS?

I think that the issues are all reasonably well known and most cars will have already had them fixed - but would pay to check in the servicing records. Not really any more issues than similar age models of other brands/models.

The more I read the more I want one to replace our daily!

To keep one of these turbo ep6s on the road you will be spending at least $1200 a year on maintenance, with a 50/50 chance of a major spend at random..

Common issues:
Hi pressure fuel pump failure, resulting in in misfiring, no power, no start => Roughly $1300 to replace. (Can happen repeatedly)
Inlet ports carboning up, results in misfiring, no power => Roughly $1200 to walnut blast. (WILL happen repeatedly)
Outlet tank failure, resulting in overheating of engine, no heat in cabin, => you take you pick at what it kills, upgraded tank $1000
Noisey and early failure of dual mass flywheels, results in Chewbakka wookie noise and vibration => $2800 replaced

4 speed BVA automatic gearboxes are terrible and fuck out from brand new but I expect if you are looking at a GTi it'll be manual.

So no definitely not a myth....

If you like the 207 shape I'd be going for a manual HDi, they're a much better driving experience, more reliable, much cheaper to run and maintain and in my opinion a much more fun and responsive engine to drive.
