So having previously owned a 205 GTI 1.9 and a 306 GTI6 i somehow ended up with a 309 SRI...

Its so tidy... The 1.6 has a surprising amount of torque after the other two and it handles just like I would expect :)

Umm so yeah recommendations ? Information on these seems sparse online.. Has all the books with it which is handy.
I would like a little bit more noise from the exhaust any ideas ? Any simple mods ? Its far to tidy to modify to much.

That needs nothing doing to it other than massive amounts of driving on back roads with high speed corner entry.

I spotted it on TM a while back and thought it was very cool.

Enjoy.

Buy a soundtrack of a Racecar and play it over the stereo (if it works for BMW it must be good).

You mean like the Clio ? - just watched the Top Gear Ep with the 208GTi vs Clio vs Fiesta ST ..... the Clio lets you 'choose' the engine sound and plays it through the speakers ......  gringe .......

Ive driven the new M3 and the sound isnt as distracting as in the clio.... The clio has a R35 GTR option for sound....

So yeah time to enjoy Summit Rd/Gebbes pass :)

There was a Summit Road Stage in Targa last week.. ChCh?

Yep - it used to be my test track for running in new engines!! GSs do not like being treated gently with brand new rings...

I've had more than a few friends fall off it over the years. There used to be an old L15 sitting in the bottom of a gully near Sumner after its handbrake failed while the occupants were enjoying a "smoking session"...

Never understood how many people drive off that road... Ive been driving up there multiple times a week for 15 years.. Learned how to drive on gebbes pass in a 87 Starion and 1.0 91 Toyota Starlet...

Never once been close to wrecking up there. Love gebbes we are so lucky to have such an amazing road so close to home

Try harder. Its called the limit! haha.

Only joking. Real familiarity accounts for a lot, I am sure I know every bump and corner of a very unpredictable 35km test loop I do locally, have a fair understanding of how you could get it all very wrong multiple times.

Also, being useless/stoned/drunk/an idiot means you are a lot more likely to crash...

I had some weird friends when I was a kid.   :o
