Another newbie, Peugeot 206

Greetings,

Ever since I saw the "scupltor" ad I knew I always wanted a Peugeot 206

About three years ago I was aiming for a GTI/S16, but with the arrival of child, a five door prevailed... so a NZ-new, year 2000 4 door XR it is.

Fiddling done so far:

• Changed from those mighty 14" steel wheels to 205 "pepper pots". Straight swap with the existing tyres, but needed longer wheel bolts (Peugeot idiosyncrasy lesson #1)
• Fitted an OEM spoiler bought from a wrecker
• Discreet audio upgrades (blogged here)

Mainly signed up here for any further mod ideas and maintenance advise as needed.

Will try to get some proper photos of the car itself soon...

p.s. I'm based in Bucklands Beach, I see there are a few members lurking nearby...

Awesome welcome along man! Deff gets some photos up and what are you looking at doing to the vehicle/ how mechanically minded are you? A GTI/GTI180 engine swap would be pretty sweet on an XT

I'm not really that confident under the bonnet... I read the step by step guides to death before pulling the door trim. Perhaps I should start learning to DIY the basics first.

One good thing about this car is that it's pre-mux, but that rules out a  GTI180 conversion. I'm sure I'll have plenty of other questions during my research.

At least the XT comes with rear seat headrests. This one is so poverty-pack it doesn't...

I consider the ability to remove and then re-install interior trim (perfectly and without breaking anything) to be the pinnacle of automotive mechanics! If you can do that, the rest should be easy to pick up
