Title: MI16 L/H Driveshaft help
Post by: mattm on February 25, 2017, 06:24:53 PM
hi to all, I have a 405 MI16 1992, the inner left cv has excessive play and i am having great problems in trying to find a replacement shaft at a reasonable price, I have stripped the part off the car and it measures approx 650mm in length, 25 teeth on the outer 24 in inner, it has no abs which makes things a little difficault as all MI16's in the UK are Abs, can someone please advise on where I can get one or repair in Auckland for under $300, many thanks Matt

Best bet would be to try Troy and the team at Bishops garage, 8 Edinburgh St (off K Rd), or maybe Greg Kent, 81 Diana Dr, [/size]Glenfield.

Is it the inner tri-axle universal joint, or the outer rzeppa-style CV joint that is the problem?

Running an ABS outer CV shouldn't cause an issue if everything else lines up.

If the shaft is the same as a BX 16v one I may be able to help - I'll check one of my spares for you.
