Hi, new to this forum, and a newbie to forums in general... My name is Reon and I live in Auckland out east in Halfmoon Bay.
I have two 205 GTI's one Red auto - the run-about, and one Black - the project. Got both cars from Greg Kent on the shore - he's a top bloke!
I did have a 405 Mi16x4 - still got the engine tho! You've probably guessed - the plan is to plop the Mi into the 205 project...it was supposed to be done by now - but ya know how it is....
I have been getting the bits together slowly....I've managed to get so far:
205 to Mi16 Exhaust angle plate from QEP in the UK,
Solid engine mounts (Group N?), Group N rubber top suspension mounts, Group A or N can't remember - rear beam mounts, and a 205 Mi16 conversion water hose kit from Baker Bushes and Mounts in the UK.
Also got myself some PolyRace suspension bushes and a short-shift kit from RallyDesign in the UK too..!
I've blinged up some bits of the engine too from the local powder-coater - just need to clear some space in the garage to get started...not that I know what I am doing mind. I may be calling on your combined expertise for help!!
Anyway that's me for now - I'll post some pics when I get to work - they're on my work PC.
Cheers, Reon.
Will keep an eye out for you - I'm in Pakuranga with a white 205 GTI 1900 with Greg Kent numberplate surrounds ;). There is/was also a white 1600 GTI at Eastern Beach.
errm, I'll post the pics just as soon as I work out how... the pics are currently 2592x1944 - apparently just a tag too big.
Open them in MS Paint under Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint in Windows XP. Then push Ctrl+W and alter the %ages until you're happy, then Save As.
Download irfanview - it's brilliant for batch processing images. And it's free.
Use http://imageshack.us for hosting them.
Ah ha, worked it out...
Here are some pics of my cars, they don't look quite as good as in the photos - they lie. Lighting is very flattering.....The Red car has refurbished wheels too now. Had them de-kerbed and powdercoated, but powdercoating can't quite get the colour match...Next set will be painted!

Honestly, 205 GTi's (and 309's :P ) are the hottest looking cars out. awesome
nice cars
hope you are going to show them off at the meet next month
I have a slight technical issue - they're not supposed to be driven on the road at the moment....the WOF guy got a bona over rack ends for some reason. Both Pugs failed along with our Saab 900se Convertable due to steering rack ends... Fixed the Saab as it's Laura's daily driver but the Pugs can wait a little longer! And they still drive better with crapped out rack ends than the Saab. ;)
bummer,
Autolign and bnt have rack ends, not dear either
^ Got a ballpark $ on rack ends? I need some for the 306. I'll try Repco (only because they're open tomorrow), but can wait until Monday depending on price difference.
about 40ish each
you want some i can get u a price?
Lol, just rang Repco - $96 each. So yeah - might wait 'til Monday :D

Who are we talkiing about here lads? It it someone we've all had intersting dealings with?
The [con] artist formerly known as Mr B
one thing is for sure he is not welcome on here
Isn't it funny that I knew exactly who you were talking about! Good ol' MR B...
I managed to guess who it was too before I got to the bottom of the page!
He's gotta realise it's a small (Pug) community! Hell for that matter it's a small country! ;)
Haha I love it!
