Title: (Hopefully) Future 306 GTi-6 Owner Reporting
Post by: EzyE on May 30, 2011, 11:05:45 AM
G'day all! As the title states, hoping to find myself a nice example of a 306 GTi-6 as my first step up from the Jap' Econobox rung on the ladder. Figured I should school myself up, and this seems like a good place to do so.

Welcome along. Definitely a good place for info as while tghe GTi6 is an amazing car, there are some things to look out for.

I'll let the owners on here fill you in.

As far as I know you should...

also look for JDM 6 speed s16's (they are the same as a GTI6).
Avoid the ones with the plastic vacume pod thingies... someone else can add a pic and tell u why.

Also need to listen out for the clicking caused by cracks where the top engine mount attaches to the chassis.

I'd prob'ly stay away from that one tbh.
Tints for gangsta look, lowered on chromes
sounds like the kinda guy that bounces it of the limiter down main street
for attention. plus 6.9k for a phase 2 jap spec.
I realise I got mine for a bargain and all but that seems a bit steep for what it is.
Only plus is the low kms but that doesn't mean a great deal if that
guy has it at 7000rpm 90% of the time. Keep peeled for one that's been owned by
a middle aged euro enthusiast. There was couple on trade me recently with similar kms for less but no chromes :'( HAHAHAHAHAHAHA (cyclones FTW)
