Title: Newb says Hi
Post by: CitBX16V on July 16, 2012, 03:52:43 PM
Greetings to all. I'm a gal, not a guy and have a '91 Phase 2 BX 16 valve. Bought it four or five years ago but it's been off the road as much as on in that time as things slowly get sorted out. Fixed suspension, brakes, some electrics and I'm currently looking for a distributor cap so if anyone knows where I might get one, I'd be grateful.

Love the car but can't wait until it's going as well as its meant to.

This is my third Citroen; had a GS 1220 and a BX GTi.

Look forward to hearing from others.

Happy days to y'all.

Hi there - whereabouts are you - quite a few of the guys are round the country - should be able to sort you out a dizzy cap.

Welcome! My dad ended up taking the standard dizzy cap , and drilling it out to fit a bigger, more common  bush and spring. Worked a treat.  You in Wellington? Grey valver?

Welcome! Glad to have another BX16V on the forum.

You can get caps and rotors from GSF Car Parts in the UK for about 18 pounds each. They ship in about a week and freight's not too expensive.

Pete is getting me to ship some stuff to him so if you want we could look at chucking a dizzy cap in the same box?

Don't think there are many spare 16v dizzy caps going around as they are $75 each new

Hey! Thank you for the  welcome! Thank you too for your help. Much appreciated. It's been a busy week both work-wise and also a big family birthday party in HB last weekend hence my delay in getting back here.

I'm in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, k-trips. Great roads for the valver.

Cammmy, that'd be awesome if you could include a distributor cap for my red rocket with your order. I wonder how we could communicate and arrange payment? Thank you.

Thank you Ade. I will do that if Cammmy can't get one.

red16v:  Hi. No, not Wellington and the car's not grey. Mine's red too. Hope to get to Wn soon though.

2052NV: I don't have a PayPal or eBay account but if that was the only way to get a dizzi cap, I could sort that. Thank you.

Thank you all so very much for your help. I can see this was the right forum to come to and now hope I will be driving my favourite car again soon.

I'll check back in here daily now I'm back to what I call normal again.

Happy days to y'all
k

I have an NZ bank account that you can deposit into. Will let you know when Pete orders his bits and you can order yours too. I can't say when that will be sorry, could be weeks. If it's urgent you may need to source locally.
