Been a while (8 years!) since I've been on here. Had to sell me GTI back then. Have now purchased a 1.9 CTI so am looking forward to it's arrival from Christchurch in the next few weeks if Auckland drops down levels. Got a couple of other toys too.

He used to do a lot of our PSA stuff when I was working in Chch. Hopefully he still has some good suppliers!

The Poseidon Blue one off TradeMe? It's sold now I believe. To you?

I've got a couple of them, including another Poseidon Blue one and a racecar. And several parts cars.

They're generally pretty reliable cars, with the only expensive things to really worry about being oil leaks from the head gasket, and occasional gearbox synchro issues. And maybe rear trailing arm bearings, which can be a pain.

Aside from usual maintenance items on a 25yo car, there are other little things that crop up. But nothing to really worry about (assuming it's not spent time in the UK and has no rust).

Cheers for the advice - very sensible  ;D.  Funnily enough I have just picked up a Clio - a 197 RS Cup.  The Megane RS 3s are very cool - good to hear your recommendations about them.

Saved the best  (of the worst) to last.
The most costly and the most disappointing car I've ever owned - stunning to look at but disappointment in the end. I was happy to see the back of it. This is the best feature of the car, incidently.
