Title: 1978 Citroen GS
Post by: emknaps on December 06, 2007, 11:13:33 PM
Hey folks.
Daniel is my name.
live in West Auckland,
am a euro enthusiast.
haved owned plenty of frogys and spaghetti munchers.

stumbled on this site whilst surfing trademe.

as the topic says i have a Citroen GS

perhaps not considered a fast car but i think my modifications have made it a little unique.....

approximately 135hp and on the rise.

I see the most popular car on this site is the loverly 205GTI

having owned a 1.6 GTi i can say they are rather rapid and handle like go carts..

I would love to own one again one day.

am looking forward to browsing the forums in the next few days...

Cheers,
Daniel.

welcome man...

it's not that safari that was on trademe is it?

D- Is for Dog
G- Is for GO

Welcome mate. Good to see some one who hasn't got a 205 and wants to put an mi16 in it. What mods have you done to your GS? Down-drafts? I had a 1980 GS damn good car.

grumpy grumpy  >:( >:( >:(

if my bx wasn't 99% rust, i'd keep it and love it, but it is, so i won't. i will cut its guts out, after i get drunk and fuck around with the gas suspension. and maybe i'll wee on it  :P

Not grumpy. Just board. I think I'll get a 3 series beemer and lower it. Maybe spap some cha-homies on it. Find a mint bx body and do the swap-a-runey, I'll help.  ;D :-*

I went for a drive on the north western the other day with boost uncapped,

only limited by throttle position so i had to keep an eye on the boost gauge while driving

it accelerates in 4th at 15psi like it does in 2nd at 5psi...
once you crack 12psi it seams to really start hauling.

pinks a little tho and maxes out the injectors,

so i will have to start thinking seriously about upgrades.

gives me the jitters it does,

that much grunt on 145 SR15's is going to be a problem....... ;)

Bonjour!
Just joined. Wouldn't have known about this site if I'd never seen the sticker on what I'm sure must've been a 205.
Seen your 'kiwi-d.i.y.' GS turbo on youtube. Same one aye?
Had an '81 GSA wagon 1300 5-speed for three years, fricken awesome... but just needed a bit more 'go'. Dreamed of doing anything along the lines of injection, twin carbs, turbo or supercharging many a time - just didn't have the means. With the suspension and aerodynamics they can sure handle heaps more speed. Awesome how smooth hydropneumatic Citroens seem to almost feel safer the faster they go! It could also do big 'jump's that would scare the s**t out of any car with 'normal' suspension!
PS: My Papa's life was saved once by a Peugeot 504, only because it was tough enough to handle a crash that would've squashed most cars with weaker bodies.
Anyways, till next time/a la prochaine fellow frog-o-philes  *:-)
