Title: Another Aucklander
Post by: camb on March 22, 2014, 12:58:38 PM
Not sure I have ever posted an intro of myself, but have 8 posts ... Now 9 and want to see the FS section.

I had a 106 Rallye when they were new, and it was awesome. Thinking potentially a bit French again.

Since posting this thread I've actually been lent a car, so it's all become less urgent.

I don't think I'd do a Rallye justice - it'd be parked outside and they need looking after these days. I had been looking either at something cheaper than a Rallye, or more luxurious (haha, that's pretty much any other car). I was a bit distracted by some Japanese options too...

I did test drive a Clio Sport (a 2002), which was a bit of a farce as it had what I assume is an electronic throttle body problem about 2km into the test drive before I'd had any fun... Basically stopped going.

I know of a good one. Two male owners, only raced on days ending with y, never garaged.

Welcome. The 106 Rallye is such a sweet car. Tbh I haven't been trying too hard to sell mine, but it is just sitting in my garage unused. A Clio 200 Cup is basically a modern interpretation of the same thing- much faster but nowhere near as fun (hard to find any similar class modern car that would be imo).
