Title: Peugeot 405 gear box questions
Post by: topper on November 08, 2010, 10:31:49 PM
Greetings all. I am going to have to do a gearbox swop on my 91 Pug 405 GRD. I have been unable to find out what, if any, ratio differences there are between the GR (petrol), GRD (diesel) and GRDT (diesel turbo) gear boxes / drive trains.
Current box is a 5 speed BE3 box.
Can any one shed any light on trans ratios, diff ratios and speedo drive variations?
Thanks.

Neil

can't give exact ratios etc. but the diesel box will (someone correct me if im wrong) have longer ratios. SO MORE TOP SPEED!

but i imagine it wouldnt be a big difference

Diesel Pugs I've driven have had first gears for pushing 747s around the airport.
