Hi - found this site via a recommendation...and as I've just bought a not-so-common French car I thought I'd register.
My name is Peter Crow, and I've just bought a 1992 Peugeot 405 Mi16 in generally excellent condition with a comprehensive service history (76,000kms). I've been a classic car enthusiast for 25+ years - with a particular interest in French and Italian sports sedans and sports coupes. Have owned several Peugeot, Renault, Alfa, Lancia, Fiat and BMW(!) cars over the years.
Also own a 1992 Lancia Delta integrale evoluzione in great condition (87,000kms) and a Renault Scenic (family car). Am toying with offering the integrale for sale if someone is prepared to pry it away - money talks!

Welcome man. Good to have another wellington member.
French and Italian sports coupes rule!
And your integrale sounds face ruling!
Cool stuff
Hey man welcome!
is your lancia red and sometimes(rarely) parked around mt vic?
actually the integrale's paint is "Winner Red" (burgundy to most people). Never parked around Mt.Vic, sorry.

Sorry to disappoint but the integrale is an evoluzione, not an evoluzione kat. Mine is the last model the factory works team rallied with all the homologation gear still intact. As far as I know, there are two road-registered evoluziones in New Zealand, and just one evoluzione kat.
WOW
welcome to the site mate. good choice with the mi16 too, and if that 76k is total then my god you've got the lowest mileage one in new zealand, surely.

76,000kms is accurate as best I can tell (from the service and WOF records anyway). Two long-term and careful South Island owners until Aug '08, then to AKl for a short-while and now to me.
While the car is in good nick, I am building a "todo" list of things to bring the car right up to the standard I prefer.
that's cool mate. I'd love to see her.
That's quite an impressive stable :o
I'm one of the more "I have a piece(s) of shit, but they're French" members. Managed to learn a thing or two over the years. Like how to whack taper locks hard enough with the biggest hammer available.
welcome!
EDIT: I was a little drunk when i wrote that. i don't think it makes sense. What i meant to say was getting a 76000k car 'up to standard' seems pretty hardcore and the kind of thing I would like to do given time/money/experience etc. If my car runs, then that's up to the standard I prefer :P
Nice collezione!
Welcome aboard our popular little site!
Hey Man
Brilliant, my dad started with an Integrale in England then got an 8v too for round town. Also ended up importing another Integrale but it has damaged steering (looks like someone put it into a curb or something). Sadly I don't think any of them are road worthy any more :'-( I've been hanging out to get one from him but with an Mi16x4 that needs work and a Triumph saloon I don't think that it would be a good idea to take on an Integrale that definately needs work.
Would be very keen to meet and see your Mi and Delta.

How does one upload and attach a picture? The only option I can see is to refer to a picture already on the internet?
You can upload it to photobucket using the login: fastfrogs and password: frogsfast
And then do the copy image location thing from there :)
To those requesting pictures of the integrale...

Man that rules me, looks so staunch, well done!
I'll leave the pictures on-line for a week so that everyone that wants to can have a look. Then I'll remove them as I'm not fussed about having pictures of my car displayed all over the internet...

Why? That seems a bit wierd :P
Sorry but ive gotta ask - What bad and horrible thing is someone able to do with a picture of your car from the internet? ???
best to blurry out the number plate in 'paint' or photoshop

It's more an issue of privacy. I grew up in the 60s/70s and am not used to living my life "in public" on the Internet like so many younger people seem to do these days. I published the picture out of simple courtesy to those that directly asked to see the car.
Hi Peter,
I have removed the number plates from your pics if it helps.
Thanks for putting up the pics!
yeah, thanks Peter, much appreciated.
Although cliquey and off the handle seeming as we are, we're a pretty safe bunch around here. You can res easy :)
Such a cool car, that delta, though. I've lusted after those since I was little
Wow. That Integrale is awesome. It's neat to see someone taking good care of one :D

Lol at Alex trying to swap/off load 2 BX's for his!
Also, Peter, what's next on the cards for you if you sell the Delta?
Hi there. How's the Mi16 going? I have a series 2 ie. 95 model which has a genuine 81,000 km. Purchased it 18 months ago at 74,000 km.
Regards Pete
The integrale went to an enthusiast in Auckland. The new owner is looking after it well. The Mi16 we bought in May is being used daily and is proving to be a reliable car for us - nothing more nothing less.
funny you say that! i saw a car exactly the same as yours at work the other day and thought it was amazing to have 2 of them in that condition and colour in the country! turns out there is only one :P
nice car tho. you should have kept it.... :-X haha
you mean the integrale? Indeed there are only two road registered integrale evoluziones in NZ. One Monza Red and the other Winner Red (burgundy - my old one).
yuh intergrale. defo will own one of those one day ::)
Hey Peter did you get your Intergrale from Christchurch ? There was one in Fazazz down here a number of years back ... it was the same colour (am sure) they wanted about 40k for it ... I so wanted to buy it ... nice wagon anyway real nice !
Indeed mine was in CHC when first imported in Jan'94. It was owned by two enthusiasts down there (the own who imported it and one other) until sold to a guy in AKL who owned it for 12-14 months before I bought it. Car is now safely back in AKL and being cared for by a young enthusiast. $40K sounds about right for that time. Nowadays, the evoluzione (not EVO II) is fetching GBP10-13K and starting to head upwards again. I suspect they'll never be cheaper if you wanted to buy one in the UK and import it in a couple of years once it satisfies the "at least 20 years old" criteria.
