Nice pictures, nice cars, decided red is the best colour for a GTI... Nice BBS RS on the Mk2 also, wheel porn.
Cheers :-)
No special settings or filters on the camera. But I am a photographer for a living so that might have something to do with it :-) Canon MK3 with 85mm f1.2.
Wow awesome! You should def come to the next fastfrogs photoshoot!
Is that Jay's 205?
Yes Jays 205 16v
Mine is a 2L 8v with P&P gasflowed head, oversized valves & big cam.

Sport and news mainly - editorial stuff.
My Golf GTI is for sale - thought I'd mention it, as wanting to replace with something like a Clio RS.

have a tm link or other. i don't think many people here are on vask.... LIKE ME! haha
I'm on VASK ;D
yea - or let us know what the price is :) might know someone who wants one (although he wanted a 16v)
Its not on TradeMe. This is a low key trade. There are lots of pics and a build thread on the VASK link.
It is a 2L 8v GTI with a polished/ported/big valve head built by Lynn Rogers. Car has the same or more power then a 1.8 16v but within a much more usable power band.
Wow wicked ! 8)
was that your car in performance car mag car park meet shoot?
The black beastie has been sold and been replaced with the blue meanie :P
Clio Sport 182

very nice. congratulate 8)
Nice looking per chase!
This could be coming up for sale between now and the end of the year. 160,000kms - full service history. Since this pic, has been lowered slightly on Eibach Sportline Springs - drives so much better, and solid engine mounts gone in also with Powerflex bushes.
Not many 182's in the country.
What could I expect to get for it ?
Bit of wear and tear but generally in good cond.
There's one with 39000kms for sale at 17k which is a bit high, I think realistically you're looking in the 11k-12k bracket with those kays etc. If you find the right buyer higher of course.
Nice Golf GTI, i almost bought it a while ago then got my 206 GTI 180 instead, for $1000 more than what the guy wanted for the golf.
The 182 has had a birthday. Such a great car decided to spend the money and keep.
Got new cambelt, waterpump, aux belts etc etc. New rotors and pads all round, Powerflex bushes in the front ARB's and wishbone. Just a set of new tires now before the next WOF which I have budgeted for.
Getting some upholstery fixes in the next week. Some rips on the drivers seat bolster.
The Powerflex upgrades have made a huge different to the tightness of the car up front. Massive improvement.
Would love to get a Miltek exhaust, but so much $$
Got in all the parts myself...even with freight ( from UK) and tax there were some massive savings over buying here, and all genuine Renault.
O for Oarsome!! ;D
I also added a front splitter. This is a Skoda part off a Fabia and apart from a little trim at the end, fit the 182 perfectly. Makes the front look a lot nicer.
Updated pic.

thats a cool car!
Cheers. I have a work trip to the UK in Novemeber. Hoping to bring back a set of Koni's and an exhaust system with me then. And what ever other goodies I can fit in. Hope the exchange rate is as good then as it is now.
I also got it a clutch for sometime in the future.
I felt like a bit of a change - the car is perfect, but just wanted to give it a wee styling tweak.
Plastidipped the wheels white, applied some vinyl Gordini stripes and restored the grill on the front bumper. Did it all myself at minimal cost - won't be to everyones taste, but I like it for now :-)

I think it tastes good! :)
Wow! Nice.
Looks awesome! Let me know how well the white PlastiDip works out - I worry it won't like brake dust or brake heat...
Looks awesome. You have a good eye for detail.
I am striping my white Clio with blue stripes!
saw a 182 crusing round feilding before.
realyl grown on me the last few weeks. so cool.

You are right, long term it doesn't like dust or heat. When I did mine, after track day kinda heat, it bubbled in a few areas where the plastidip probably didn't bond exceptionally well (I didn't run over the wheels with degreaser or anything, nor did I rough up the paint underneath).
And brake dust loves to be soaked up in the plastidip, you can wash half of it away but the other half stays.
You can find some cleaners to clean it off, but you will essentially be removing a thin layer of rubber too, so you can't wash it too many times.

Yeah - I expect to agree with all that. My thinking was use the Plastidip to do it cheap and easy ( and it was so easy ! - masking the wheel with a pack of playing cards) to see if I liked the look, and then when it starts looking ratty, then look at a powdercoating option.
Or if anyone has any OZ Racing 16x7 4x100 Superleggera or similar - then please let me know !
Yeah, Plastidip is very good to get an idea of what the car would like with X colour wheels. One day, ill peel mine off and paint it. White Superleggeras would look absolutely choice on this!
