Just brought a 1989 205 GTi but unsure its a phase 1 or 2?? how do you tell?
Hi and welcome. Where abouts do you hail from?
Being a 1989 model yours is likely to be what's commonly referred to as a 'phase 1.5' which has grey trim, three colour rear lights & orange indicators, plus three spoke steering wheel & rotary heater controls.
It may have a be3 gearbox with 'normal' reverse position which came out in mid 89, the earlier be1 has reverse next to 1st & a lift mechanism on the gear lever.
Hi and welcome to the forum

Yours is most likely a ph 1.5 with a grey dash.
Also off topic. What is that switch on the lhd heater vent?

Did any 205's come out with adjustable level headlights? That's similar to 405 switch for them, just a little higher.
Possibly.. Also check out the glovebox
Wow. Weird. You should do LHD conversion for headlight beam adjust and weird glovebox handle fastness.
Nah I dont like how far I would have to reach to switch on the hazards when it breaks down
Welcome, where are you from? :)
Thanks for this... from the Thames Valley, home of the mighty swamp foxes!!!
This 205 has been off the road for 2 years and just got home from VTS for a warranty. Soooo happy, only need to fix a few little lights and the drivers seat rails. Easy as!!
My dad played for Thames Valley back in the day, and for West for quite a number of years as well.

my hazards only work if I have the indicator switch in either 'on' position. weird.

You Know You Own a French Car When...
^^^ Isn't that just a crapped-out flasher unit?
I like how the electronics in my 308 can't cope with making both the indicator clicking noise and the seatbelt warning beep at the same time - you can have one or the other, but not both...
Did you figure out what model it is? Post us some pics when you can :)
