Post by: flex0r on October 13, 2010, 09:15:23 AM
Hi

I currently drive a 306 xsi and before that had a Citroen AX GT. Looking to hopefully get a 205 GTI sometime soon.

Good stuff man - A few of us weirdos round Wellington - keep an eye on the events section and come join in with some activities..

We talk a whole lot of smack on here and most probably twice as much in real life.. bunch of absolute GC's.

Once you get up to 10 posts you'll find the for sale section opens up to you..

Also feel free to chuck up some pics of your car and plans of what you are doing to it etc

Yeah man. Could defiantly be keen on that. My 306 its fairly rough still. I got it for $800 not running. Its going fine now but the paint work is shocking and has far to many dents. I have been looking at a few different engines to put in it. What do you guys reckon about a 306 mi16?

Haha - thats a running joke - "stick an Mi in it"

However I believe you are looking for a GTi6 or an S16? (thats the equivalent of a 306 XSi with an Mi16 motor and 6 speed gearbox from the factory)

Yeah I think they are smilier but the earlier mi16 engine has a bit more output then a s16 engine? I dunno. Not to worried untill this 8v craps out.

Ideally you would want an XU10J4RS from a GTi 6. More power than the Mi and Would probably be easier to put in as all the bits are from a 306.

Also, welcome to the forum :)

Welcome to fasts.

What was your AX then? I have a strange fetish for them

My AX was well mean. Maybe you seen it round welly, but would have been about 2 years ago that I had it. It had a respray in red and had the 3 stud wheels powder coated black. The pod filter was almost as big as the 1.4 engine but the noise it made was insane. I sold that to get a Audi a4 1.8t and it was no way near as fun.

Yeah pal. It was. I got it from someone who lived near wellington airport. Bloody loved that car. last saw it round wellington about 6 months after i sold it. But it was a guy in auckland that brought it off me. How long ago did you own it?

Yeah i lived on the main road to the Airport. Never saw it again, till i saw it on trademe a couple of times. Want it back now. With a 106 GTI wreck PLZ ;D

I had it for two years. Think i got it maybe early 2007. Did you also have a mint BX with the top half black? Yeah i saw it on trademe a couple of times but it had different wheels. I always wanted to get 106 xsi drive shafts and rear axle so i could put some wheels on it. And yeah a saxo vts engine. I looked at AX VTSs on youtube for ages. There was a fairly tidy white AX GT on trademe a few months ago but was 5 grand.

Still in New Plymouth-bought my Xantia off the same guy. Glad the little shitter went to a good home.

Check my project threads for my current 16vs- one will finally go off the road, once i get the final money to the Don, and i get some space sorted, either hee or in Masterton!

Yeah those BXs are sick man. Would love to get one when the 306 finaly packs up and needs to come off the road for a while. Out of interest roughly how many 16vs made it to NZ you reckon? Seems to be a few on here but dont see them driving around all that often. Very cool cars.
