Hello to one and all, I'm the happy owner of a 182 Sport living in Wellington. The time for a new cam belt is approaching and I understand this is a specialist job (or am I wrong, can my local mechanic do this?) Can anyone recommend someone. Or if I have to go through a dealer who is that these days as I know it's not Gazley anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can organise a cambelt kit yourself online, you can save a massive chunk of change. Get water pump and tensioners too if at all possible. You can then get a price for the change rather than the parts as well.  I can't help on the mechanics front, but I know Chris Kk recommends auto care kilbirnie, i think they help out the old school guys a fair bit? Depends where you are in Wellington really.

The only thing better than one 16v: TWO 16vs...and a V6

Thanks, yeah was going to source the parts from the UK as my wife is going over in a couple of months anyway, you're right, way cheaper.

Gazley will probably be the best choice. As there is a set of Renault specific tools to lock the cams and crank. Be sure to get a dephaser too. Better to do it now rather than redoing the cambelt again

Thanks, I'll give them a call.
