Hi,

I've had more than my share of Citroens over the years (DS, GS 1015 and 1220, GSX2 (look it up!) and various BXs. And a Peugeot or two as well. Currently I have a BX16v Ph2 (in red) and a 308SW. And an M3, but that's a story for a different forum.

Hoping to find a few bits for my 16v, as the old thing is desperately in need of some TLC (and some shinier paint).

Cheers
Mungous

Welcome welcome - BX's rule!! LOL

FYI - I am dismantling a BX (diesel) this weekend so if you need any bits that are not motor specific and if I haven't burgled those bits for my own purpose then let me know ASAP and I'll keep them aside for you. Otherwise its off to the scrappy unfortunately..

PS - whereabouts in NZ are you?

I'm in Auckland, and really need exterior 16v-specific parts more than anything. In particular, front and rear bumpers. The Phase 2 bumpers are fibreglass and, as it turns out, don't like lamp-posts or pumpkins (don't ask).

Although if you've got a good electric door mirror I'd be keen on that...

The ph2 bits are pretty hard to get; especially undamaged. You can buy repro ones new from overseas though.

The repro ones will be a last resort - I fitted a set of them to a mate's car only after much swearing and cursing about the poor fit...

As they is fibreglass- easy fix. Just repair em, i did. Then repaint em

IMHO you have NO chance finding a set of P2 left in the country i think- any in a wreck are generally fooked.

Good luck!

Found a pic of my old ID - it had been sitting in a barn for over 20 years when I bought it. Only had 60k miles on it too. Just needed a new gearbox, a bit of TLC (and LHS) and she was off!

Why the hell did I sell it.....?

Haha - I love going through old photos and digitimising the cool ones. Found this classic from way back in the 20th century (I wonder what ever happened to that car?!):

Really?!  It was hardly roadworthy when I sold it back in 2001.  300,000km will do that to a BX.  It had about 160,000 miles on it when I swapped the speedo for a km/h one, and then I did at least another 10,000km in it before selling it.  It had a cool set of 5-spoke Speedlines on it by then as well.  Otherwise it was a proper grandpa's axe of a car.  I even made a frankenstein gearbox out of two buggered ones when I was a poor student and it spilled its spider gears on the road outside the Bowler in Dunedin...

<<<edit - I see it is on its third speedo now!!>>>
