Hi all,

Am happy to be here  ;)

I drive a Peugeot 306xn 1996 1.4l with Solex 32/34 z2 carbs. Before that I owned a Peugeot 205 gti and a Peugeot 106 xn.

No need to say that I am a great Peugoet fan.

My plan for the 306 is to remove the boring carburator  (hot start problem keeps me mad) to transplant a more responsive and powerful engine. No idea what will the best for my car, because I wish to input an engine with high torque at low rev. Unfortunately Pug engines have high torques at high revs  :'(

Anyway, that's all for me now. Pics of 306 will come soon.

Cheers.  8)

Splattered drink all over my keyboad as I read that.   hah!

On a serious note... you do have a good range of options, for torquey engines that came in the 306! Like an XU engine of some description. They do slow ones and fast ones, but they are all more torquey in the mid range as opposed to torquey in the high range like the little TU you have there (which is probably most fun in a smaller car). Other people on here will be able to tell you more.

That's my 2 cents' worth of nonsense for a Saturday night! welcome to FF and have a good weekend.
