Hello to my fellow french car nutters!

Finally got around to joining up. My friends have been on to me for some time.
So thank you to Stafford for helping me through the process.

Ask me about fuel injection and I WILL BORE YOU SILLY. But these type of computers......
Well lets just say that I do know when the monitor "tips over" the top of the screen goes green!.

So about me. A grade Motor Mechanic of 40 odd years experience still practising here at Mt Maunganui.
I call myself EUROCAR SERVICES or EUROCAR EQUIPE and have been here since 1983.
Before that I was the Service Manager for our Peugeot Renault franchise garage in Palmerston North,
Justice and Edmunds,  and had been trading since 1919. The doors were closed in 1980 when my Dad and his Partner wanted to retire.
I guess it was inevitable that french cars have been a major part of my life.
To that end I am currently the carer of about 40 odd Pugs and Renaults (and my Daimler V8), some of which are clients cars and some donors and some, future rebuilds to resell.
So the main fleet!!..... 1954 Renault 750, 1970 Renault R10, Unfinished 1966 Renault R8 with a mid mounted R25 Monaco V6 and Autotrans, (Scheming to make it a manual paddle shift),  1972 Peugeot 504,   974 Peugeot 504 TI Sportiff,   1977 Pug 604,   1986 and 1987 Pug 505 GTI's.   1992 Pug 205 CTI 1.9,   and  a work in progress 1985 Pug 505 race car with mechanical injected V6 which i am aiming for an all up weight of under 1000kg. Might make it a two door as an evolution car but will wait till I get a season under my belt first.

Good to be finally here.....
Cheers.

Stafford

Thanks Guys.

The R8 will certainly be interesting but I must stress it is a long term project and is currently buried in the back of my garage. I can just see the roof of it!.
I have owned it since 1974 and ran it as a standard car but the 1108 engine was modified to what we used to call half race spec. Big twin choke, freeflow, fully balanced that sort of thing. Used to rev up to 7000 no worries. The guys sitting in the back used to edge forward on the seat as I recall. Get further away from that screaming sound !.
I ended up doing some aerobatics behind the Palmy North airport one night. Three barrel rolls landing on the roof every time.!. Thats what started this idea. So in 1977 on,  its had a new roof, seam welded bodyshell and to start,  the transaxle was modified to turn around back to front with the original swing axles, the hot 1108 in the back seat area, and the radiator moved forward to what was the spare tyre area.
Since moving up here I have now the V6 assy and a R20 front susp and part of the associated bodywork that I will graft into the R8 bodyshell to give me double wishbone suspension at the rear.
I will sort out some photos of the early days work to put up here.
But first its get some clients cars finished, (dont worry Stafford, yours is first!)  and then the 505 race car!.

Cheers.

Awesome.

What colour is your R10? seen an R10 last year at Kumeu hot rod show that was a pale yellow colour.

Sounds like it really is a long term project. I know that feeling all too well too.
